Consecrating vs Charging
While very similar, there are actually a few distinctions here that individualize these concepts.
Consecrating is to deem something sacred, to give it a Divine purpose, and to treat it as such moving forward. Another term for this would be "blessing."
Charging an object/space/person infuses it with a specific intention for its greater use and purpose. In other words, you are harnessing power and amplifying a sacred item with it.
What Kind of Objects Can Be Consecrated & Charged?

Physical Tools
You technically don't "need" any tools for this, but they can definitely be helpful! Especially when you're still practicing really visualizing the energy transfer itself.
Crystals
Any kind of crystal. Choose one associated with your desired intention, or let your intuition choose for you.
Wands
You can make anything into a wand so long as it feels like an object you can direct energy with. Branches, knives, pens, etc. You can also purchase a wand as well of course! I would recommend purchasing one that has been sourced and crafted in a way that aligns with your own ethics.
Plants & Dirt
The object can be physically touching the plant or the dirt, but it can also just be near it too.
Weather
Channel & harness the energy of a sunny day, the wind, or a storm.
Celestials
Use the energy of planets, luminaries, or aspects in the astrological chart.
Fire & Smoke
The vibrations that emanate from fire and smoke are powerful and sacred, really let your intuition guide you when working with them.
Water, Liquids, & Oils
Whether you're able to fully submerge your item or simply flick a few drops onto it, you can get really creative in this category.
How Do You Do It?
This isn't necessarily "difficult" to describe, it's more that I don't want you to go into the experience with too many expectations so you an allow for your own organic process to develop. I'll share with you what this looks like for me, but bear in mind that the way you sense, feel, and visualize your consecration work and your energetic charging can and may look TOTALLY different! Which, in my opinion, is very cool 😎
I first ground, cleanse, and protect my own aura and spirit. I am using myself as a conduit of energy, which means everything is going to filter through me into the object, so it's important that I am centered, aligned, and present in the moment.
Then, I cleanse and purify the energy of whatever I am blessing.
Now, the process doesn't look exactly the same every single time, but essentially I visualize the energy as different colored light that comes from or filters through me and begins making its way into the object.
First, it pushes out or removes any previous stagnant, irrelevant, or harmful energy.
Then, the light begins to fill and fill the object with its essence and magick.
And finally, I envision a protective energy or coating to seal it all in and protect it
FAQ
How long does it last? How often should you consecrate or charge an item? There is no set amount of time or specific routine (unless one develops on its own for you). You will be able to sense when it is time. Usually the object feels hollow, empty, or even dusty and grimy. Sometimes you'll just feel called to it for what appears to be no reason at all. There really is no wrong way, time, or place for this practice, so you can totally and completely follow what feels right with how many times and how often you go about it.
What about un-consecrating or removing your magick from the object? I love this question! This concept is actually just the act of cleansing or purifying. You would simply go about your preferred method of cleansing the item to remove any work you or someone else has done with it.
Can you consecrate a person or a relationship? You sure can! You can either use a physical object you feel represents the person or relationship, or you can simply picture them or the relationship as an entity in your mind. Then, continue as usual, and picture them being blessed or charged with power.*
*Do they have to be present or participate? In short, this ultimately comes down to your own personal moral ethical code. Every situation is going to be subject to so much nuance, so I will leave it at this: if you're worried about moral consequences, maybe don't do it.
I can't wait to hear all the inspiration this practice opens up for you! When it comes to Intuition Strength Training, remember: release preconceived expectations, remain observant not judgmental of your experience, and trust in the creativity your intuition opens up for you.
